NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An on-duty MTA worker was standing on the platform at a Harlem subway station on Friday afternoon when she was punched in the face, and the NYPD is searching for the assailant.

The 66-year-old transit worker was inside the Harlem–148th Street subway station at 1:15 p.m. when she was randomly punched in the face.
She was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

The attacker fled the scene to parts unknown, and police released surveillance images of him on Saturday to aid their investigation.

In the images the suspect is seen jumping the subway turnstile wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and carrying a blue backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
