One killed, another in critical condition after shooting in Brooklyn home

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A woman was killed and a man is in critical condition as a result of a shooting in Brooklyn on Friday evening, police said.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting two people shot at 17 Louisiana Avenue at 6:58 p.m. Friday.

Inside, officers found a woman and 26-year-old man, both with multiple gunshot wounds to the body, the NYPD said.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead on the scene, officials said.

Medical personnel then rushed the 26-year-old victim to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, police said.

According to authorities, a 52-year-old man has been taken into custody as a person of interest, and a gun was recovered from the scene.

The Daily News reported that the victims were shot by the female victim's husband and that the male victim was his stepson, but police have yet to confirm the identities of anyone involved.

According to a neighbor who was interviewed by the Daily News, the shooter was jealous and thought his wife had a lover.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
