NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man is recovering after he was shot while on board an MTA bus in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, according to the NYPD.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Hegeman Avenue and Thomas S. Boyland Street at 1:30 a.m., police said.

The 25-year-old victim was riding a westbound B15 bus on Rockaway Avenue when at least one stray bullet burst through the passenger-side windshield and struck the man in his neck.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and he is expected to recover.

The MTA did not respond to 1010 WINS’ request for comment.
