Person walking on tracks fatally stuck by train at West 4th station: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A person walking on Manhattan subway tracks was fatally struck by a train on Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police said it happened around 9 a.m. at the West 4th Street-Washington Square subway station in the Greenwich Village.

The victim has not yet been identified. It wasn't immediately clear why they were on the tracks.

The MTA said the incident had caused B, C, D, E, F and M trains to run with "extensive delays" in both directions.
