NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have deemed a 4-month-old girl's death in Brooklyn earlier this month a homicide, the NYPD said Tuesday.

Officers responding to a 911 call around 4 a.m. on Dec. 12 found 4-month-old Madeline Makhnovsky inside an apartment on West 3rd Street in Gravesend with trauma to her head, the department said.

The girl was taken to NYU Tisch Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Dec. 16, police said.

Her death has since been deemed a homicide, the NYPD said.

No one had been arrested in connection with her death as of Tuesday. An investigation is ongoing.
