According to Essig, Oliver is "wanted in terms of the stabbing," but noted that "the victim isn't cooperating with us."

Officials on Monday released video footage of two men wanted in connection to the stabbing of a volunteer for mayoral candidate Eric Adams in the South Bronx on Sunday.

"A member of Team Adams -- who has been working hard & volunteering every day -- was stabbed in the Bronx today," Adams tweeted along with a photo of the crime scene.

The first individual is an adult male, dark complexion; last seen wearing a red bandanna on his head, a white tank top, camouflage shorts, red sneakers and he had on a black and gray backpack.

The volunteer was stabbed was hospitalized in critical condition after being stabbed with an ice pick at 149th Street and Morris Avenue in the Melrose section, according to Adams, who said he was in surgery.

Police confirmed that the 42-year-old man was stabbed around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

"We pray for him. This violence must stop," Adams wrote.

Speaking Sunday at the site where two children were nearly shot in the Bronx last week, Adams said the volunteer "was out campaigning, and some type of dispute happened, and he was stabbed multiple times with an ice pick."

"The police department is now investigating. There is a video, so that's going to be very helpful. And I'm sure as soon as they can speak with him, they'll find out exactly what happened," Adam said.

Adams, who is the Brooklyn borough president, has been leading recent polls in the Democratic mayoral primary. Several candidates who are going up against him in the race responded to the stabbing on Twitter.

"Horrible news. My thoughts are with your volunteer, their family, and your entire team, Eric," Andrew Yang tweeted.

"My thoughts are with he and his family and my heart hurts for Team Adams today," Maya Wiley wrote. "New Yorkers shouldn't have to fear walking down the street."

"Pained to hear this. Sending love to his family and thinking of the team and volunteers," Kathryn Garcia tweeted.

"This is abhorrent," Shaun Donovan wrote. "My thoughts are with this volunteer, his family, and all of Team Adams. Everyone over at Team Donovan is wishing for his speedy recovery."
