NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for two men who allegedly drove an SUV into an NYPD officer while fleeing a traffic stop on the Harlem River Drive last week.

Officers pulled over the suspects’ Toyota Highlander—which was reported stolen—near West 159th Street around 6 p.m. on Jan. 23.

But when the cops got out to investigate, the driver hit the gas and struck one of them while fleeing the scene, police said.

The vehicle was last seen headed northbound on the Harlem River Drive.

The injured officer was hospitalized in stable condition, with pain to his neck and back.

The vehicle was reportedly found abandoned in Inwood.
