Queens nurse who was first to receive vaccine to be featured in Tom Hanks-hosted inaugural TV special

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Queens nurse who was the first in the U.S. to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, will be among the "everyday Americans" featured in the prime-time, Tom Hanks-hosted inauguration TV special "Celebrating America" Wednesday night.

Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, received the vaccine on Jan. 4.

"We'll also be highlighting everyday Americans who have stepped up to serve their communities!" tweeted the Biden Inaugural Committee, with short bios of those celebrated citizens.

"Celebrating America" will include performances by Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Jon Bon Jovi.

The special will air live from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC. It will also stream live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNow from Fox and AT&T’s DirectV and U-verse.
