NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Staten Island toddler was killed when she was struck by an SUV driver in a Stop and Shop parking lot Friday afternoon, police said.
The 69-year-old driver of a Ford Explorer was exiting the Elm Park shopping plaza on Forest Avenue when 2-year-old Autumn Garrison walked in front of the vehicle around 1:45 p.m., police said.
The driver struck Autumn, knocked her over and subsequently drover over her, police said. The driver remained at the scene.
Autumn was transported to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
