NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The final suspect wanted in connection with a deadly home invasion on Staten Island has been arrested in Alabama, more than five months after victim Tamer Shaarawy was gunned down.
DeAndre McClelllan was arrested and charged with murder, two counts of robbery, criminal possession of a machine gun, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon that was a loaded firearm and criminal possession of a firearm, police said Monday.
The 24-year-old was picked up by authorities in Alabama over the weekend and extradited to New York City, NBC 4 reports.
McClelllan was the last member of the robbery group who allegedly broke into the 38-year-old's Hinton Street home on Dec. 16 and fatally shot the bodybuilder and father of two in the left shoulder.
Kaitlin Reuter, 35, and Nathaniel Morton, 40, were the first two charged in late January in connection to the shooting.
Emmanuel Sullivan, 20, was arrested and charged nearly 10 days later, but was found dead on May 28, inside his cell on Rikers Island.
Sources told the New York Post his death did not appear to be a suicide.
