NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police on Wednesday released a photo of a suspect they are looking to identify in connection to the shooting death of a man at a Manhattan housing complex last month.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, detectives have identified 24-year-old Gekron Williams as the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting.
According to officials, at approximately 10:37 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, police responded to a 911 call of a man shot at 2971 8th Ave. in Washington Heights where upon arrival, officers observed 33-year-old Kenneth Taveras who had been shot multiple times in the chest.
EMS transported Taveras to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
