NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Thursday released a photo of a suspect accused of robbing a yellow cab driver in Manhattan at knifepoint in June, authorities said.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, a 46-year-old man was driving a yellow taxi cab in the vicinity of West Street and Charles Street in the West Village when he was flagged down to pick up an unknown passenger.
When the victim pulled his vehicle over and the suspect entered the front seat of the taxi, officials said.
The cab driver then asked the individual to enter the back seat for further service.
The suspect then proceeded to display an unknown sharp object while demanding money.
The victim complied, giving the suspect approximately $10.
The suspect then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.
