NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teen boy was arrested and charged in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old outside of a Queens McDonald’s on Friday, police said.

The fellow 14-year-old boy is charged with first-degree gang assault in the Friday afternoon murder of Julian Corniell. The NYPD does not release the identities of minors charged with crimes.

The fatal stabbing—which is being investigated as a homicide—occurred outside of a McDonald’s in Sunnyside just after 3:30 p.m.

The victim was transported by medics to New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Corniell was stabbed in the stomach outside of the fast food restaurant, located on Queens Boulevard between 38th and 39th streets, after a fight inside spilled out into the parking lot, police said.

Sources told 1010 WINS that there were two groups of teens fistfighting and arguing while clad in ski masks and backpacks, and that the brawl may have been gang-related.

Witnesses said that there were up to 20 people involved in the fight, and 1010 WINS observed a knife at the scene.

The arrested suspect was taken into custody after the stabbing and charged just over two hours after the fight, police said.

It is not yet clear if anyone else will be charged in the case, or if murder charges will be leveled against the arrested teen. The investigation is ongoing.

Corniell lived in South Jamaica, about 11 miles from where he was killed, and police did not say if he was involved in a gang or crew.
