Teen killed, another hospitalized in Bronx shooting

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teen boy was killed in a shooting in the Bronx on Friday evening and another was injured, according to police.

The shooting happened at 1491 Macombs Rd. in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx at about 5:48 p.m.

Andrew Mora, 17, was shot in his left chest. EMS rushed him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Mora lived in Inwood, Manhattan, about 2.5 miles from where he was killed, police said.

Another 17-year-old boy was shot in the right abdomen during the incident. He was also taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he is in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The shooting happened not even 30 minutes before 17-year-old Carlos Rivas of the Bronx was stabbed to death in a knife fight in East Harlem, and two days after 10 teens were injured in a mass shooting outside of a Queens club.
