NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the abdomen while riding the subway in Queens on Monday afternoon, and police are searching for the assailant.

The teen was attacked at about 12:33 p.m. while aboard a Manhattan-bound M train at the Court Street–23rd Street subway station in Long Island City, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an incident involving a knife and discovered the victim. He was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center by EMS and is in stable condition, authorities said.

Police said that the suspect is believed to be another 15-year-old boy who got into a verbal argument with the victim before attacking him.

The stabber fled the scene and there have been no arrests.

An investigation is ongoing.
