NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 7-year-old girl was walking down a Brooklyn street with her mother when a tree limb fell on her, fracturing her leg, police said Wednesday.
The FDNY said it happened on Ocean Parkway by Webster Avenue in the Kensington neighborhood at 10:39 a.m.
The girl was transported to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.
The 7-year-old is only the most recent person to be hurt or killed by a tree or tree limb falling this month.
A falling tree killed a woman and injured another in the Bronx on Aug. 15, and on the same day a man succumbed to his injuries days after he was hit by a fallen tree branch while sitting on a bench at a Brooklyn playground.
1010 WINS has reached out the the city's Parks Department for more information.
