NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A trio of attackers hurled cans of food at a 17-year-old girl while making anti-gay remarks earlier this month, the NYPD said Wednesday.
The girl was at Melrose Playground in the Melrose section of the Bronx around 9 p.m. on Dec. 12 when three males of an unknown age started throwing cans at her while making anti-gay statements, police said.
The hate-crime attack left the girl with a torn knee ligament, the NYPD said.
Her alleged attackers hadn’t been arrested as of Thursday, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
