NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man who previously worked as a security guard at an Upper West Side migrant shelter was indicted on sexual abuse charges for allegedly assaulting two young sisters who lived at the location, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Wednesday.

Oscar Delgado, 38, is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of forcible touching, prosecutors said.

“Oscar Delgado allegedly sexually assaulted two sisters, abusing his power as a security guard whose duty was to protect the very children we allege he abused,” Bragg said. “This charged conduct is deeply disturbing, and I hope the survivors continue to heal from these assaults.”

According to court records and statements, Delgado worked as a security guard at a migrant shelter at West 88th St. and Riverside Drive for approximately two months.

During that period, on the evening of Nov. 25, an 8-year-old girl was in the shelter stairwell with her 4-year-old brother when Delgado entered, approached and sexually abused her over her clothing, prosecutors allege.

The survivor’s 10-year-old sister was in the same stairwell playing on her phone later that evening, and Delgado allegedly entered and spoke to her. Prosecutors said that he continued to approach her, placed his hand under her clothes and forcibly touched her buttocks.

The girls told each other about the abuse, and then their mother, who informed the shelter’s head of security. This official called 911.

Delgado, of Brooklyn, was arrested inside the shelter while still in his security uniform.

The case is under ongoing investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373.
