NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Newly released footage shows the moment a driver shot a teen moped rider in the Bronx on Friday evening, police said.
The shooter, driving in a silver Chrysler Sebring sedan, was chasing down the 16-year-old on the moped through Fordham Manor before opening fire, police said.
The driver struck the teen on his moped with their car near the corner of West Fordham Road and Andrews Avenue at around 6 p.m., police said.
The teen then fled onto the sidewalk to safety as the driver following him. Eventually, the driver can be seen on camera rolling down their window and firing multiple rounds at the teen in front of 2272 Andrews Avenue, police said.
The teen was hit once in his right knee, according to police.
EMS responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said.
