VIDEO: Man, 71, punched to ground at random in the Bronx, suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 71-year-old man was punched to the ground in an apparently random attack on a Bronx street, police said as they searched for a suspect.

The NYPD released disturbing video of the April 10 attack on Sunday.

The victim was walking on Southern Boulevard, near E. 185th Street, in the Belmont section around 6:45 a.m. when he was punched in the face, police said.

Video shows a man punching the victim from behind, causing him to fall forward onto the pavement.

The victim suffered a laceration to his face and was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police believe the suspect is between 25 and 30 years old. He was last seen walking eastbound on E. 187th Street.

In a separate street attack on Friday, a 38-year-old man walking down a Greenwich Village street was punched in the face and robbed of his $750 watch, police said.
