VIDEO: Man, 61, sucker-punched unconscious on NYC street, suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 61-year-old man was sucker-punched in the face and knocked unconscious on a Bronx street this week, police said.

The NYPD released disturbing video Friday of the attack, which happened in the Morris Heights section at 11:45 a.m. Monday.

The video shows the assailant walking towards the victim at E. Burnside and Jerome avenues. Seconds later, he punches the 61-year-old, who collapses to the ground.

Police said the victim was knocked unconscious. EMS took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and treated for a cut to his lip and swelling to his head.

The suspect boarded an eastbound Bx40 bus after the attack, police said.
