NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man armed with a pole bashed a worker over the head after stealing perfume from a Bronx store, police said.
The NYPD released new video of the broad-daylight attack this weekend as they continued their search for the suspect.
Police said the thief entered the Terminal Boutique clothing store on E. Tremont Avenue in the Mt. Hope section on the morning of April 2 and stole four bottles of perfume and a ring worth $40.

When a 59-year-old employee tried to get the items back, the man struck him in the back of the head with a pole repeatedly, police said.
Video shows the man swinging the weapon at the worker as he ducks behind a streetlamp pole.
The victim suffered a laceration to the back of his head but refused medical attention at the scene.
Police said the suspect fled eastbound on East Tremont Avenue and then southbound down the Grand Concourse.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
