NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man who was sleeping in his Mercedes on a Brooklyn street was dragged out of the vehicle, attacked and robbed by a thief, police said Tuesday as they released video of the attack.
The NYPD is searching for a suspect in the Nov. 21 robbery near 61st Street and Seventh Avenue in Sunset Park.
Police said the 32-year-old victim was sleeping in the backseat of his car just after 7:15 a.m. when a man opened the vehicle's door and dragged him onto the sidewalk.
During a struggle, the attacker struck the victim in the face and grabbed $300 from his wallet, police said. He then fled on a Citi Bike.
The victim suffered pain to his face but refused medical attention.
