
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A driver had to be assisted by firefighters after a water main broke and flooded a stretch of roadway in Long Island City on Thursday morning.
The main sent water onto Vernon Boulevard, between 41st Avenue and Queens Plaza South, after it broke shortly before 4 a.m.
Firefighters had to help one driver in a vehicle as the main flooded cars and homes, WABC reported.
Citizen App video shows several vehicles submerged in water.
The cause of the break wasn’t immediately known. It reportedly knocked out water to the Queensbridge Houses.
