NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two NYPD horses were seen taking off running
in Brooklyn on Thursday, a video shows.
The incident occurred on Quentin Road and East 9th Street in the Midwood section of the borough at approximately 12 p.m.
The horses -- named Freedom and Sampson, appeared to have been spooked after an officer suffered a medical episode and EMS arrived on the scene and ran off onto Ocean Parkway, according to police.
Both horses were apprehended following a brief chase on foot by another officer.
The officer who fell suffered minor injuries and was treated by Flatbush Hatzolah Volunteers.
Both officers were transported in stable condition to NYU Langone and are expected to be okay.
