WEATHER: A wet and wild start to the week for the tri-state

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The week is getting off to a wet and grey start, but the sun will make a few brief cameos.

Monday night will be humid with a few showers a thunderstorm, according to AccuWeather, which cautions that repeated downpours can produce localized flooding, with the potential for more serious flash flooding in some areas.

There is a flash flood warning for the Bronx until 7:30 p.m.

Later Monday night, it will be partly to mostly cloudy and sticky with patchy fog. Expect a low of 78.

On Tuesday, it will be humid with intervals of clouds and sun. Expect a spotty afternoon shower and a high of 82. Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with some showers and a thunderstorm, especially late. Low of 68.

On Wednesday expect more showers and a thunderstorm; more potential for
flooding downpours; quite humid. High 76.

On Thursday, turning out mostly sunny and breezy at times with lower
humidity. High 74.

Looking ahead: Monitoring Hurricane Lee, which will produce
coastal flooding, rough surf, rip currents and beach erosion late
this week into the weekend.

According to AccuWeather, there is about a 20 percent chance of rain and wind directly from the storm for NYC and inland suburbs, ramping up to 60 percent on eastern Long Island.
