NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Heading towards the weekend, dangerous rain is expected to hit New York City but will transition into warm pleasant weather by Sunday.
Thursday night will be cloudy and breezy with periods of rain, becoming heavy past midnight, according to AccuWeather, which warns that downpours could lead to flash floods in certain areas. Expect a low of 58.
The rain continues into Friday and a flood watch will be in effect until 2 a.m. through late Friday night.
Friday and into Friday night, continuous rain at times heavy with the potential for flooding on streets, highways, and sidewalks, as well as the possibility of more serious flash flooding in specific areas. Expect a high 63 and low 58 on Friday night.

Governor Kathy Hochul also warned residents of Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island to brace for heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding from Thursday night through Friday night.
"I encourage anyone expected to receive heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours to stay vigilant, keep a close eye on the forecast, and heed any emergency orders from officials if necessary," Hochul said.
On Saturday, it will be cloudy and some remaining rain might fall, however towards the end of the day, the sun comes out. Expect a high 68.
On Sunday, it will mainly be sunny, pleasant and warmer with a high 75.
