NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD confirmed on Tuesday that threats were sent to the wife of WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart, marking the latest in a series of similar incidents, according to reports.
An anonymous homophobic email was sent to Stewart's wife, former pro basketball player Marta Xargay Casademont, as first reported by the New York Post.
Last week, Casademont reported the email to the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn, which included the message: "I hope someone shoots your wife dead, f**k you d**es [sic], I hope you both die," among other hateful remarks.

Sources told the New York Post that a memo by NBA security indicated the email came from an internet address linked to other threats, including death threats, bomb threats, and racist rhetoric.
Casademont, 33, played for Spain women's national basketball team from 2011 to 2020 and married Stewart in July 2021. They have two children.
Stewart's team, the New York Liberty, is currently competing in the WNBA Finals against the Minnesota Lynx.
