NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are investigating after a woman fought off a sexual assault that occurred on a West Village street early Tuesday, according to police.
At around 4:35 a.m., authorities said the 36-year-old woman was walking home to her apartment near the corner of West 12th Street and West 4th Street when a man grabbed her from behind.
The man grabbed the victim's chest over her clothes and then threw her to the ground, police said.
The woman was able to fight off her attacker, who fled in an uknown direction, officials said.
The woman refused medical attention.
There have been no arrests had been made and an investigation is ongoing.
