NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- The NYPD on Monday released surveillance footage of a man accused of pushing women to the ground in a pair of robberies in Queens earlier this month.
The first incident happened at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, March 7.
A 71-year-old female was walking in the vicinity of 105-44 86th Street in Ozone Park when the suspect approached her from behind, authorities said.
According to police, the suspect placed his arms around the victim's neck, threw her to the ground, and proceeded to punch the victim in the face.
The suspect then stole the victim's purse which contained numerous items.
He was last seen fleeing northbound on foot on 86th Street.
A short time later, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a 51-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 97-15 87th Street when she was approached by the suspect, officials said.
The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole her property.
He was last seen fleeing northbound on foot on 87th Street.
Both victims refused medical attention on the scene.
