NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The death of a 72-year-old woman days after she was bumped into by a man during a fight on a Harlem street has been deemed a homicide, the NYPD said Friday.
According to police, at approximately 5 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 3, Martha Rodriguez fell and hit her head on the pavement after being pushed during a dispute between two men in front of 720 Lenox Ave.
EMS transported Rodriguez with head trauma to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in critical condition and she succumbed to her injuries on Friday, Aug. 6.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner has now deemed this incident a homicide.
There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
