NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection to the death of a woman, 78, found in her Queens home with slash wounds, officials said Thursday.
Osvaldo Diaz, 45, who is believed to be the victim's son, is sought in connection with the killing.
He is described as 5-feet, 10-inches and 180 pounds.
A machete was reportedly discovered at the scene of the second-floor apartment near Hillside Avenue and 219th Street in Queens Village where Maria Diaz was found on Wednesday night, according to police.
Officers responding to a call of an unconscious woman found Diaz unresponsive in her bedroom around 7:50 p.m.
Police said Diaz had a laceration to her head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
