NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 70-year-old woman died after crashing into a pillar supporting an elevated highway in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The driver was traveling southbound on 3rd Avenue around 3:42 p.m., when she struck a pillar underneath the Belt Parkway near 52nd Street in Sunset Park, officials said.
Emergency responders found her unconscious and unresponsive in her 2020 Range Rover.
EMS rushed her to Lutheran Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police have not yet released her name pending notification of her family.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad will investigate further.
