NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating after two people were shot while sitting inside of a vehicle Monday night in the Bronx, authorities said.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on April 5, police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in front of 1125 University Place in the Highbridge neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers observed two adult victims that had sustained gunshot wounds inside a late-model Bentley.
A suspect in another car drove up to the vehicle and opened fire, according to a report from the New York Post.
According to officials, the front seat passenger was a 39-year-old woman who sustained gunshot wounds to her neck and torso.
The vehicle operator, a 37-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg, police said.
EMS responded to the location and transported both victims to NYC Health & Hospital/Lincoln, where the woman victim was pronounced dead, and the male victim remains listed in stable condition.
There have been no arrests and the investigations remains ongoing.
