NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A woman was arrested after she tried to push a man onto the tracks in an unprovoked attack at a Times Square subway station this weekend, police said Sunday.

The man was on the NQR platform at the Times Square–42nd Street station around 8 a.m. Saturday when the woman shoved him from behind without provocation, according to police.

Video shows the man nearly falling onto the tracks before he catches his balance, the New York Post reported.

A 25-year-old suspect, Briana Randolph, was arrested at the 34th Street–Herald Square station later in the afternoon, according to the report.

Police said Randolph was charged with assault, a second-degree felony, as well as reckless endangerment. She's been arrested six times for assault this year, according to police.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea shared an image of the attack on Twitter on Sunday, writing, "Yesterday, just hrs after a straphanger was nearly pushed onto the tracks, @NYPDTransit cops on patrol recognized the attacker & took her into custody. Transit detectives have now charged her w/ the felony assault—her 6th assault arrest just this year."
