NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A woman punched another woman on a Queens street while making an anti-Mexican remark, police said Friday.
The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the Aug. 4 assault in Rego Park.
Police said a 49-year-old woman was waiting for a bus at 63rd Drive and Woodhaven Boulevard around 11 a.m. when she was attacked.
Another woman came up and punched her in the head multiple times while making an anti-Mexican statement, police said.
The victim suffered pain and bruising to her head. She was transported by EMS to North Shore Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released an image of the suspect, who they said fled the area after attacking the woman.
