NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman was violently raped inside a Bronx hotel room last month, and police on Thursday released surveillance video of the suspect to elicit the public’s help in locating him.

The assault took place inside a room at the Hotel OPUS, located at 1440 East 222nd St. in the East Bronx, at about 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, police said.

Authorities said that a man entered the room with a 25-year-old woman, at which point he pulled out a knife, demanded she cooperate and stole $400 from her wallet.

He then told the woman to remove her clothes and forcibly raped her, police said.

The attacker fled the scene on foot, traveling eastbound on East 222 Street to parts unknown.

The survivor was taken by medics to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

Police said that the suspect was last seen wearing glasses, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and was carrying a black backpack.
