Woman, 49, repeatedly shot, killed by boyfriend inside Brooklyn home: officials

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was taken into custody after he allegedly shot his girlfriend to death during an argument in a Brooklyn home early Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to officials, just before 3 a.m., the woman’s daughter called police after the suspect, 48, allegedly shot the victim three times inside the home located at East 96th Street in East Flatbush.

The girl then hid inside the home until officials arrived, PIX11 reported.

Responding officers discovered the 49-year-old woman had suffered gunshot wounds to her head, stomach, and leg.

The victim was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

After a two-hour standoff with SWAT teams, officials forced their way into the home, where the boyfriend attempted to hide in a crawl space. He was taken into custody and has not been charged.

The victim's identity has not been made public by officials and an investigation remains ongoing.
