NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man in a surgical mask slashed a woman on a subway train at Wall Street on Wednesday night—a day after another woman was stabbed in the back at a subway station in Chelsea.
The NYPD released images of the suspect in the Wall Street attack on Thursday. There was no immediate indication from police that the two assaults were connected as the investigations continue.

The 29-year-old woman was aboard an uptown 3 train that was pulling into the Wall Street station around 11:10 p.m. when a man—in his 20s and wearing a surgical mask—began harassing her, according to witnesses and police.
He then slashed her across her left arm, left elbow, both hands and back, police said.
He stole her phone, then bolted from the train and fled the station, according to cops.
The victim was treated for her injuries at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and is expected to survive the gash wounds, police said.
It was on Tuesday evening that a 25-year-old woman was randomly stabbed inside the 23rd Street station at Eighth Avenue.
According to police, she was walking down the stairs into the station around 6:30 p.m. when a man came up and stabbed her in the back unprovoked.
She was also transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and is expected to recover.
No images of the suspect have been released in the Chelsea attack.
