NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Tuesday, identified a woman whose badly decomposed body was discovered in the Bronx over the summer.
According to officials, the victim was identified as 47-year-old Rachel Lopez, a Bronx resident.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 27, police responded to a 911 call for possible human remains in the rear of 877 Intervale Avenue in the Longwood neighborhood.
Upon arrival, police discovered the remains of badly decomposed body parts.
The Medical Examiner responded to the scene and confirmed the body parts to be of human origin.
Police ruled Lopez's death a homicide.
There are no suspects in the case and an investigation is on-going.
