NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is on the hunt for a shameless Staten Island thief who has stolen several high-end pocketbooks since late July.
Police said Wednesday that two of the four heists were at stores in the Staten Island Hylan Plaza.
A 38-year-old woman was shopping at Marshalls on July 30 around 12:15 p.m. and put her Michael Kors pocketbook on a stroller when she went to pay for her items, and he nabbed it. The pocketbook had $300 in cash, an Apple iPhone 12, and credit cards before fleeing to parts unknown and using her credit cards to make $500 of illegal purchases.
On Aug. 4, inside the Shop Rite Supermarket at the shopping plaza, police said the same man stole a 66-year-old woman's Coach pocketbook that she left unattended around 4:20 p.m. He obtained $150 in cash, an Apple iPhone and credit cards before fleeing on foot northbound on Hylan Boulevard.

Cops said the last heist at the plaza happened on Aug. 17 around 1:25 p.m. inside Macy's. He targeted a 71-year-old shopper who left her white Michael Kors' pocketbook unattended on her walker. He was able to steal another IPhone, $1,000 cash and credit cards before fleeing.
He later made $163 worth of illegal credit card purchases at a Brooklyn Kids Footlocker, police said.
Two days later, the suspect picked up a 59-year-old woman's wallet left unattended in her shopping cart inside the Stop & Shop supermarket on Hylan Boulevard. He removed the wallet containing $200 cash and credit cards from her pocketbook before fleeing.
He made $652 worth of illegal credit card purchases, including a $12 purchase at the New Dorp Deli.
Cops said the man is 35 years old, 5'7", 150 pounds, of medium build, with brown eyes, a tattoo on his right arm and short dark hair. In each illegal purchase incident, he only spoke Spanish.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
