NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An unidentified construction worker was killed by a digger at a job site in the Bronx on Thursday, according to police.
The worker was struck at a construction site on Carter Avenue near East 176th Street in Mount Hope around 11:30 a.m., officials said.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and another injured person was brought to St. Barnabas Hospital.
The construction site is for an apartment building with affordable housing for homeless New Yorkers, including 86 units with on-site services.
The NYPD and the Department of Buildings are investigating the incident.
