
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man dragged an 81-year-old woman on a Bronx street during an attempted robbery in the Bronx last week, police said Thursday as they released a photo of the suspect.
The victim was in front of 3998 White Plains Rd. in the Wakefield section around 3:40 p.m. last Wednesday when the suspect tried to steal her bag, police said.
She was dragged on the ground as he attempted to snatch the bag away from her in broad daylight, according to police.
He ultimately fled empty-handed, heading eastbound on East 226th Street, according to police, who believe he’s about 18 years old.
The victim was transported by EMS to Montefiore Medical Center to be treated for injuries to her elbows and knees.
