Long Island man, 29, stabs brother then sets house on fire; both hospitalized: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Long Island man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his brother with a knife and then set a house on fire on Friday night.

Victor Brown, 29, stabbed his brother with a "large knife" at a home on Sequoia Lane in Coram around 8 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.


After stabbing his brother, Brown allegedly set the house on fire.

The brother called 911 and responding officers arrested Brown, police said.

Both brothers were taken to a local hospital, where the stabbed sibling was being treated for serious injuries.

Brown was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree menacing and resisting arrest.

Police didn't say who lives at the home or the extent of the damage from the fire.
