MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A man admitted to repeatedly stabbing a relative inside a New Jersey home in 2023, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.

Timothy Sauers, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree attempted murder during a hearing on Friday, Jan. 3, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.


On July 5, 2023, police responded to a residence on Hillside Street in Middletown for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for her injuries along with another resident, who stepped in to stop the attack, authorities said.

An infant was also present at the time of the stabbing but was unharmed, authorities said.

Investigators determined Sauers was responsible for the stabbings.

His sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20.
