SHREWSBURY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A man accused of taking "upskirt" photos of at least two women at a New Jersey supermarket in Monmouth County last month, authorities said Tuesday.
According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, at about 4 p.m. on Oct. 20, Christopher Cox, 33, followed shoppers around a ShopRite supermarket located in Shrewsbury and used "his cell phone in a manner indicating that he was surreptitiously taking photos of them from behind."
Cox then exited the supermarket in an SUV, officials said.
On Oct. 27, officials stopped the SUV on Shrewsbury Avenue.
Cox began to step out of the SUV, but then got back in and drove off, prompting the officer to release his grip and not get dragged, authorities said.
A short time later, police tracked down and arrested Cox. He was charged with two counts each of resisting and eluding and two counts of invasion of privacy.
Officials ask anyone with information to call prosecutor's office Det. Jose I. Rodriguez at 800-533-7443 or Shrewsbury Borough police Det. Daniel DeCristofaro at 732-741-2500, Ext. 230.
