DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Police on Monday announced the arrest of a 46-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found in a refrigerator dumped in Belleplain State Forest in New Jersey last week.

John Tyrrell is accused of fourth-degree obstruction after he declined to be fingerprinted or surrender his cell phone password to investigators, authorities said.

According to officials, Tyrrell called police on Dec. 22, after finding the unidentified woman's remains in a refrigerator while hiking in the forest.

Tyrrell sent a ping of his phone so state police could locate him and the body and waited for officers to arrive, his attorney said Monday.

He has not been charged with the woman’s murder.

Police on Monday released a sketch of the victim’s tattooed back hoping to identify the 5-foot-1-inch woman. A yoga mat and necklace were also found near her body.

Prosecutors asked that Tyrrell remain held for failure to cooperate in the investigation, but was freed on Monday.
