NJ man arrested in unprovoked stabbing of dog walker

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A man has been arrested for stabbing a New Jersey man who was walking his dog in an unprovoked attack, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart said Thursday.

On Wednesday, the victim was walking his dog around 2 p.m. around 9th Street and Clawson Avenue in Hillsborough when the alleged attacker, 23-year-old Safi N. Hill approached him from the back, police said.


The victim initially said he was punched in the back but responding officers found that he had actually been stabbed. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.

Police arrested Hill the next day after an investigation and charged him with attempted murder, weapons possession and hindering apprehension.
