Man charged in stabbing deaths of woman, her 2 children in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY (1010 WINS) — A 31-year-old man was charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman and her two children in Jersey City on Thursday.

Napoleon Romero-Anduray was charged with three counts of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Just after 12:15 a.m., police were notified of a stabbing at 272 Hutton Ave. in Jersey City.

Upon arrival, responding officers located three people with stab wounds in a basement apartment at that location.

Luisa Urbano, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 9-year-old son, Juan Martin Urbano and her 5-year-old daughter, Diana Ramirez, were also found at the scene with stab wounds.

They were transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where they were both pronounced dead.

The cause and manner of their deaths are being investigated by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

A fourth person, later identified as Romero-Anduray, was also found in the apartment with injuries. He was transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center where he is being treated for his wounds.

An investigation remains ongoing.
