NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a New York state trooper in Westchester County Wednesday night, authorities said.
The trooper was walking back to his car while conducting a traffic stop on I-95 in New Rochelle around 9 p.m. when a driver in a white van failed to change lanes and hit him, New York State Police said Thursday.
The driver fled the scene after hitting the trooper and hadn't been arrested as of Thursday afternoon, police said.
The trooper was taken to White Plains Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police. His age wasn't immediately released.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Troop T Headquarters at 518-436-2825.
